Solitaire 3 Social is a fun and fast-paced solitaire game for players who want to enjoy the traditional Klondike styled solitaire gameplay but want to do so in a more engaging manner. Traditional Klondike style solitaire games are quite enjoyable but they tend to feel quite slow but, fortunately, that isn’t the case here because Solitaire 3 Social implements a PvP element into the mix that speeds up things and makes the overall experience quite immersive.
To help new players get started, Solitaire 3 Social starts off with a tutorial sequence that’s been built to teach players who the game works. The tutorial is a bit lengthier than usual but it’s definitely worthwhile because, by the time it’s over, you’ll have a pretty firm grasp of the game’s core mechanics and will be able to progress through it without any trouble.
Onto the gameplay itself, Solitaire 3 Social plays out much like any other Klondike styled solitaire game does but it’s much faster paced than usual. The game pits two players against one another and the first player to complete the objective wins the match. The objective itself revolves around making four stacks of cards, starting from the ace and ending at the king, of each suit.
If no player is able to complete the objective, then the winner will be the player who came closest to completion. It’s worth mentioning that, unlike a lot of modern day solitaire games, there aren’t any power-ups to use in Solitaire 3 Social so the only thing that you can rely on is your skill. The lack of power-ups might seem like an issue at first but, in a PvP game like this one, it’s actually a good thing because skill becomes the only deciding factor.
For the truly competitive audience of players, Solitaire 3 Social comes with a tournament mode that allows players to go against some of the absolute best solitaire players from around the world. Each tournament consists of eight players and it’s a knockout styled tournament so you either have to win it all or you get nothing. The tournaments are quite enjoyable and, overall, they add quite a bit of depth to the experience.
As for how the game looks, Solitaire 3 Social won’t blow you away but it’s a neat looking game nonetheless. The cards look sharp, the colors are vibrant, the animations are fluid and the user-interface is quite clean so, as far as solitaire games go, this is definitely among the better options.
